Core to Society Social’s offerings is customization. It’s complicated to sell custom products over the web and Society Social knew they needed to take their digital infrastructure seriously.
Society Social hired Anatta in summer 2021 to redesign their website.
We’ve always been a digitally native brand with a large product category assortment and highly customizable designs, so we understood the importance of investing and modernizing our digital infrastructure. But we really needed a tech partner to help us translate that into web format.
we understood the importance of investing.

Anatta onboarded in Q2 2021. Through calls, an in-person workshop, and regular meetings, Anatta was onboarded to Society Social’s tech stack. Beyond implementing UX best practices to improve site speed and conversions, there were a handful of complex site elements that Society Social’s team wanted to fix or automate. These soon became major initiatives in the redesign.
One of Society Social’s key offerings is custom upholstery. One of Society Social’s key offerings is custom upholstery. It’s common for customers to purchase their own upholstery and send it to Society Social for custom shapes and fittings.
In other words, for every upholstery transaction, a considerable amount of information must be exchanged between Society Social and their customers.
As Anatta built out product pages, they had to do a lot of unseen work to make this level of customization simple and clear for the customer.
Specifically, customers needed an easy way to submit information on every product. The request submission process needed to be clear enough to eliminate errors in communication, without requesting too much work from the customer.
Anatta got to work and quickly became an extension of Society Social’s team, working closely and meeting on weekly calls to stay ahead of the projects.
Now on our product pages, our customers can submit requests on each individual product. That request comes directly to our team and we have all the information we need. It doesn't leave much room for error, or for the customer to leave things out. It also makes it easy for us to communicate with them.

Next, Anatta turned their focus to the blog. Society Social is a highly visual brand. They wanted their blog to match that visual aesthetic, without being too complicated for their team to regularly and easily use.
Anatta redesigned the blog to Society Social’s specs, making it design-heavy to be consistent with the rest of their brand and website.
To achieve greater simplicity, Anatta created content blocks in the backend so that Society Social team members could easily create and edit posts.
Society Social’s brand is sophisticated. Their blog was not—and we were convinced that they could get more results from their blog. We created templates and layouts for Society Social to showcase whatever story they want. We added video capability, categories to organize articles, and moved them to Prismic.
Most importantly, we made the blog more visual. Society Social’s users come to the blog for inspiration. It’s through that inspiration that they convert into customers.

We landed on a multi-layered page that’s focused on the customer experience through collections. The blog now has sales-driving content blocks, where customers can easily and seamlessly shop the products that are featured in that article.
It also has an updated content layout that lends itself to our editorial style.

By the end of the ten month engagement, Anatta helped Society Social relaunch their website, this time with web functionality and an aesthetic that matched the brand and premier business offerings of Society Social.
It was a great project and the leadership team was involved every step of the way. I enjoyed working with these four fascinating women.
