Why is Automation
Important in DTC
eCommerce?

eCommerce automation helps your team do more with fewer resources. Your team gets their time back to focus on what they do best — and as a DTC leader, you’re empowered to prioritize high-value tasks that move the business forward. In short, eCommerce task automation enables you and your team to work on the business rather than in the business.

Automating certain tasks, like creating customer support tickets, also helps your business better accommodate a growing customer base.

How does Anatta
help automate
my store’s
operations?

From automating an abandoned cart email to customer tags, our team can help set up automations that improve the efficiency of your team and store.

First, we’ll identify processes that would benefit from automation. Tasks that require multiple people or that take up too much of your time are often great opportunities for fully automated or semi-automated solutions. Likewise, if you’re struggling to maintain a growing influx of data, Anatta can implement automations to help streamline your tracking and analytics.

Why Partner with
Anatta to automate
your operations?

As automation solutions continue to evolve and become accessible, DTC brands might start to feel as if everything should be automated. But parts of your brand experience, such as your customer service and support, still deserve a personal approach.

At Anatta, we can help your brand determine the right internal processes to automate and implement these automation solutions. We can also help you understand what parts of your operations are best left to your team.

Frequently Asked Questions — eCommerce Automation with Anatta

How much of my internal
processes can be automated?

Operation automation is a powerful solution for a DTC brand’s growth. Automation can forge a better relationship with your customers, increase conversions, and free up your team to focus on higher-value tasks. However, there are some components of your operations you shouldn’t automate.

For example, a customer will always appreciate receiving a personal reply to their support ticket or question. Automating all of your customer support to automation like chatbots will create an impersonal experience with your brand. A chatbot also may not resolve a customer's problem. With this in mind, Anatta helps automate processes wherever we identify opportunities that will support you and your team, but keep your core brand experience intact.

What parts of eCommerce
can I automate?

You can automate several parts of your operations. From marketing campaigns to inventory management and customer support, automated eCommerce = faster eCommerce growth.

eCommerce Operation Automation helps DTC brands do more when:

  • Customer support tickets are created by your team
  • New marketing content needs to be posted by someone
  • Customer emails, like cross-sell or "thank you" messages, are sent manually
  • Your team has to update inventory status or tag customers themselves
  • Fraudulent and high-risk orders aren't flagged automatically or need to be verified by someone

How Does an eCommerce
Automation Flow Work?

Automation follows a three-step workflow: "Trigger → Condition → Action."

When an event happens on your site that you've automated, the event will "trigger" an action that matches your set "condition."

For an eCommerce site, an automation flow could look like this:

  • Trigger: Product inventory is low after an order is made.
  • Condition: If inventory quantity passes a certain threshold (i.e., fewer than ten items left), a message will appear on the PDP like "Only ten items left!"
  • Action: The message appears on a PDP so users know. An alert can also be sent to site admins.

Automation flows can categorize Best Sellers, localize shipping and delivery estimates, and offer personalized discounts to users as well.

If you're on the Shopify Plus platform, your brand can utilize the Shopify eCommerce automation tool, Shopify Flow, to streamline admin and store processes.
